Reciprocal Stories Moss & Moth

An interactive installation that visualises the movement of moss by translating it into a digital form on the wall, which responds in real-time to human motion. When participants move gently and slow their pace, the digital moss expands and flourishes. Conversely, abrupt or forceful movements cause it to shrink and vanish.

While moss reacts more quickly to environmental changes than most plants, its responses are still much slower than human-to-human interactions. This disconnect in perception makes it difficult to recognise the effects of human actions on ecological systems. Through this installation, participants are encouraged to slow down, fostering an awareness of the delicate balance between movement and environmental impact.

Data Fossils

A speculative project imagining futuristic archaeology and alien anthropological research. Assuming a site might completely demolish and the only remnant would be digital data from photos, how might a physical restoration look like if a machine is doing an automatic translation from 2D to 3D?
